Village houses that have never been emptied
Up on the plateau above Paphos the housing stock is old, and old houses keep everything. A typical Stroumbi or Polemi clearance is a stone property with an outbuilding, a covered yard and a storeroom, holding furniture from three generations: iron bedsteads, wooden chests, a wood stove, demijohns, farming tools, stacks of chairs from long-finished family gatherings and a wardrobe that will not fit through the door it went in through.
These jobs need more time than a town flat, and we plan them that way. We bring extra hands, we take items apart where the doorway demands it, and we work carefully around anything that might matter to the family. If a house is being cleared after a bereavement, tell us — we will set aside papers, photographs and anything personal rather than treating the whole room as one load.
Access, slopes and where the van can stand
Village lanes were built for donkeys and small cars, not for a loaded van. Half the streets in Kathikas and Droushia are one car wide, some have a step or a bollard at the end, and quite a few properties are reached by a slope that is genuinely steep in winter rain. We would rather know all of this before we set off.
Send a photo of the approach along with the photo of the junk. We will tell you honestly where we can stop, whether we need to shuttle with trolleys, and whether an early slot avoids the school run or the morning delivery van blocking the lane. Because the carrying is included from the start, a long carry does not turn into an argument on the day.
Vine cuttings, garden waste and outbuildings
This is wine country, so the seasonal waste is different: vine prunings, olive branches, almond cuttings and a great deal of green waste after every trim. Add the usual village outbuilding contents — broken pots, feed sacks, pallets, rusted tools, corrugated sheeting and the remains of an old chicken run — and you have a load that a car boot will never solve.
We take green waste to the Green Point, metal to scrap recycling, and everything else to recycling points and municipal facilities. Nothing goes over a bank or into a gully. Fly-tipping is a visible problem on the roads around these villages and we are the opposite of it: every load we take is accounted for.
Renovations, holiday homes and second properties
A steady stream of old village houses is being bought and renovated, mostly by people who are not on the island full time. That produces two jobs. Before the work: clear the entire contents so the builders can start. After the work: remove the old kitchen, the bathroom suite, the offcuts, the packaging and the tiles nobody used.
Both are straightforward for us to quote from photos, and both can happen while you are abroad. We arrange access with your builder, key holder or neighbour, work to a date you set, and send photos of the empty rooms when we are done. Because we bundle village work into runs, give us a day or two of flexibility and we will always find a slot.

Questions from Stroumbi & Polemi
Do you really drive out to the wine villages?
Yes. Stroumbi, Polemi, Kathikas, Letymbou and Droushia are all inside our normal coverage. We usually bundle village jobs into a run, which in practice means a slot within one to two days rather than same-day.
Can you clear an old village house with no vehicle access?
Yes, and it is common up here. Where the van cannot reach the door we park at the nearest usable point and carry or trolley the load. Tell us in the chat and we allow for it in the written quote — the quote does not change afterwards.
Do you take farm and agricultural clutter?
We take household and garden items, old furniture, appliances, scrap metal, vine cuttings and general clutter. We cannot take chemicals, pesticides, asbestos sheeting or gas bottles — those need specialist handlers.
