Forty minutes over the hill — and how we make that work

Polis is not next door. From our base the drive is roughly forty minutes each way, so Polis-side jobs are grouped into regular runs. When you message, we tell you which run you are on, and in practice that is almost always within one to two days.

The advantage of running it this way is that the quote you get is the same as anywhere else in the district. We do not add a travel surcharge for being on the far side of the hill, because the run is shared between several jobs. The trade-off is flexibility: if you need something gone this afternoon, Paphos town can usually do that and Polis usually cannot.

Holiday homes, key holders and absent owners

Argaka, Latchi and the villages behind them are full of properties whose owners are in the UK, Germany, Russia or Israel for most of the year. Those houses collect a particular kind of clutter: furniture the last tenants broke, a mattress that got damp over winter, garden furniture the wind finished off, a fridge that died with the power cut, and the boxes of things previous owners left behind and nobody has dealt with since.

We handle these entirely remotely if that is what you need. Someone on the island — your key holder, cleaner, gardener or the neighbour who watches the place — takes photos. We reply with one written quote. You confirm by WhatsApp from wherever you are. We drive over on the next run, clear the property, lock up and send you photographs of every room and the closed door. Payment can be settled by transfer; nobody has to be standing there with cash.

Village houses, smallholdings and the Akamas edge

Away from the marina, this is farming country. Properties around Argaka and Neo Chorio often come with a bit of land, and with land comes the shed, the rusted water tank, the coils of irrigation pipe, the feed sacks and the trailer that has not moved in a decade. We take all of it, apart from hazardous waste — no chemicals, no asbestos, no pesticides — and we will tell you who handles those properly if you have them.

Access is the other local variable. Some of the approaches above Neo Chorio and towards the Akamas are unsurfaced and rutted, and a fully loaded van behaves very differently from an empty one on that surface. A photo of the last hundred metres of track is genuinely useful when you message us; it decides which vehicle we bring.

Clearing a whole property on this coast

Full house clearances are common here, usually because a holiday home is being sold or a long-let is ending. Because of the distance we plan these as a single reserved day rather than fitting them around other work: we arrive early, clear the house, garden and any outbuildings in one continuous run, sweep through and leave with everything loaded. Reusable furniture goes for donation, appliances and metal to recycling, and the rest to disposal at recycling points and municipal facilities in the district.
