Gardens, palms and green waste

More than anywhere else in the district, this stretch is about garden waste. Chloraka and Kissonerga are full of properties with mature palms, olive trees, bougainvillea and hedges that all need cutting back at least twice a year — and the cuttings then sit in a corner of the plot because there is no easy way to move them. A single palm can produce a pile that fills a car boot several times over, and fronds are awkward, spiky and heavy once they are green.

We take it loose or bagged, along with pruned branches, hedge trimmings, bags of soil and stones, cracked pots, dead planters and garden furniture that has finally lost the fight with the sun. Green waste goes to the Green Point rather than to landfill wherever it can, and we rake the area over before we leave so the corner actually looks cleared rather than swept sideways.

Villas, basements and long driveways

The villas here often have a lower level, a basement storeroom or an under-house garage, and that is where things accumulate. Old mattresses from when the children visited, exercise equipment, a broken pool pump, tiles left over from a renovation, boxes from the move, and at least one appliance that was kept because it might come in useful. Clearing a basement is heavy work with stairs at the end of it, which is exactly the sort of job that has been sitting on your list for two years.

Long driveways and gates are no problem — tell us the gate code or arrange for it to be open, and let us know if there is a slope or a height restriction. If the van cannot reach the door we shuttle. All of that is factored into the written quote you get from your photo, so the number does not change when we arrive.

Apartment blocks on the coast road

Between the two villages there is a growing line of apartment blocks and holiday complexes along the coast road, and those bring a different kind of job: single-item collections and changeover clear-outs. A sofa bed that broke, a fridge that stopped cooling, a mattress that a guest ruined, or the whole contents of a small flat at the end of a rental.

For those we work in changeover windows. Give us the checkout and check-in times and we will fit the collection between them, including early mornings if the cleaners follow straight after us. Communal parking areas usually give us somewhere to stand the van, and where a complex has its own management rules we simply need the barrier code in advance.

Lemba, Venus Rock and the plots in between

Lemba is a village with an art college and a lot of older stone property; Venus Rock is a resort development that is still filling in. Between them are agricultural plots and half-built houses, and both extremes produce clearances — traditional houses with decades of furniture, and new builds with builder's leftovers, packaging, offcuts and site rubbish.

We can take small amounts of renovation debris: old kitchen units, a bathroom suite, tiles, plasterboard and packaging. For a working construction site producing waste every day for weeks, a skip is honestly the better tool and we will tell you so rather than sell you the wrong service. For everything else, send the photo and we will quote it.
